On my Front Porch

On my front porch I have a wonderful Iron table with a glass top. My Husband and I love sitting out here. We had dinner and wine the other evening. It is so peaceful. We also play cards sometimes in the evening. So I wanted to try something different to add to the decor of my front porch. I found a wonderful turquoise bowl and a pretty Victorian candy dish with purple flowers painted on it at a little Thrift shop. I think I paid a quarter for the bowl and 2.50 for the little candy dish. Now, it's those little things that make me happy. So as you saw in the picture I planted succulents in them and have them sitting on my table. On my other table in front of my family room window I have a little wicker bird house. YES, there is a nest in it. I have been watching the little bird build it and she laid her eggs. I have really been checking on her a lot because last year a snake got my baby birds out of my hanging fern baskets. Yesterday I went to check on her and there were little tiny newborn babies in the nest. I can sit on my sofa in the family room by the window and watch the mother come and go. She is very careful not to fly right to the nest. She takes her time to scope things out so no one is watching. I am glad she is enjoying my front porch as much as I am.

Changing my Garden!

This year my front yard is going to have a theme of the color PURPLE. My favorite color ever. We had to have our shrub's removed because they had gotten way to big after 15 years. The front of my house looks so naked now. I decided that instead of just adding shrubs I was going to make it have a Shabby Chic garden look. It will take so time to get it full and just the way I like it but I am having lots of fun creating it. I can't just add plants as you have seen. Do you like the bike? I will be adding something else soon that I want to surprise you with. Hopefully within the next week or so. Any suggestions on other perennials in purple I can plant?

Our 25th Wedding Anniversary

My Husband Wes and I were married April 26th, 25 years ago. We were meant to be. Of course, like every marriage there are the ups and downs. We seem to be able to handle the worst together so I believe that's why we were meant for each other. When times are tough that's when you need to believe in one another. There has got to be that trust, the love, and most of all, respect. It's funny when I think back to when we decided to start having children, we never really talked about how we were going to raise them except that they would be brought up Catholic. Everything just kind of came in place without even talking about it. Now 25 years later we have 2 beautiful, kind , loving, and respectful daughter who are the world to us. We both love animals as our daughters Hilary and Hannah do. So that being said, we have a Great Dane, and 4 Shih Tzus, and a cat. Yes, the house gets crazy but it's our home and we love it.
So, my two daughters surprised us with a wonderful 25th anniversary party. It was truly a surprise. A friend of mine took me to an art festival and my husbands friend took him golfing. Never had a clue. When we got back to the house I walked in and saw my mom and didn't understand why she was there. Well it didn't take long before I saw how beautiful Hilary and Hannah put this party together. They had food set up and a bar in the screened porch, flowers everywhere. I couldn't have done it better. I was so shocked at what they had done. Well finally friends and relatives started to arrive. There was about 40 people in my house. It was a wonderful gift that we will cherish forever. I am so proud of them and so happy with my life.

Not my favorite kind of visitor.I looked it up and I think it's an Eastern Kingsnake. He was trying to get between the boards on my back deck. I think we scared him when we went back there to sit and relax after Easter dinner at my brother house.We have a pitcher that was turned over and a little bird made a nest in it. I think he was after the babies. Last year on my front porch I had 2 beautiful hanging ferns and the birds made a nest in them. I went out there everyday to check on the eggs and later the baby birds. The one nest had 4 babies in it. Then one day one was missing and the next day all were missing I don't know why I looked up in the corner of my porch where the ric rac was but there he was... The snake that ate my baby birds.So this Easter Day when I saw this snake I was glad we scared him and my baby birds are safe at least one more day.

Paws For a Cause Event

Today, April 9th I had a booth in Decatur Ga. for the Animal Action Rescue Group Event. There were many vendors, adoption, pet supplies, homemade biscuits, micro chips, pet photography, vet clinic and animal daycare. My booth was my Pet Portrait business. I met so many nice people and their wonderful pets. There were all kinds of dogs. The adoption booth was one booth I tried to say away from. I would have wanted to take them all home. I did bring two of my Shih Tzu's along and they made many friends. My husband, Wes came along to help me set up my booth and he even spent the whole day with me there instead of playing golf. Special Friends of mine .

Some very special friends of mine came by for my last day of my Pet Portrait Event in Lilburn, at The Little Shop of Arts and Antiques. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shinning, there was a wonderful flow of customers and my special friends came. The two pups helped make my day. They were so cute and had such cute personalities. I have to thank Barbara the owner of The Little shop of Arts and Antiques for inviting me to show my art at her shop. It is a must to visit her shop. There are so many wonderful treasures there and the shop is so inviting and friendly. You could spend hours just sitting on her yellow love seat and visiting with her.

The Pet Portrait Event in Lilburn

Just a few pictures of my Pet Portrait Event that was Saturday 19th of Feb. We had a great turnout. I was a beautiful day. Met the Mayor of Lilburn and many other nice people. Next week in Lilburn will be a celebration for Arbor Day. I will be showing my work until then. Antiques in Old Town which is across the street from The Little Shop of Arts and Antiques is having a raffle for a tree to plant in your yard and my raffle will continue til then for a 11X 14 custom pet portrait. My raffle cost $2.00 and the money will go to Animal Action Rescue. Visit there site at http://www.animalactionrescue.org/ You can register for the portrait raffle on their site or come to the shop. We had our Christmas with the family early in SC at my brothers. It was a lot of fun and everyone loved the floor cloths. Merry Christmas to all. I always enjoy decorating for Christmas although I don't use the traditional red and Green colors. I love white for my family room because I love shabby chic and also it feels like a white wonderland. I love it at night and having all the Christmas lights on and the fire going. It is so cozy. In my Kitchen since it is purple I decorate in purple. I have had this color for 15 year and I am not a bit tired of it. It makes me smile.

Around 4:30 Saturday afternoon one of our top heavy Bradford Pear trees split and fell in the middle of our front yard. There goes our relaxing weekend!!!! My husband Wes and I went out right away to start cutting some of the branches and tying them up. We worked about an hour. Sunday was suppose to rain and we really need the rain BUT if it could hold off till we get the rest cleaned up would be great. We were lucky when we woke up this morning with no rain. We started at 9 am with the help of a friend of my daughters and our neighbor who had the chain saw with his two young sons. My daughter Hilary came out to help before she had to go to work. It made it kind of fun with all the help. We got it all cleaned up within 2 hrs. Now I hope the county comes to pick it all up. We are so thankful for all the help and having wonderful friends and neighbors. I think the Bradford Pear Trees are beautiful but I will never have them again. I'm sure this isn't the last time we will be cleaning up after them. Now time to put ice on the back and take some pain killers! LOL!!!!!

The Great Danes are growing up and I mean UP!

I wondered if you remember seeing pictures when they were 8 weeks old. Well they are now 10 months and sooo big. Dominc is our boy and much bigger and calmer. Lexi is just a little hyper and playful. She is a small Dane and we had her ears cropped when she was a couple months old. It is crazy when they go out to play. They run and jump on each other. Oh yes and don't forget the slim! My yard does not look as nice as it once did because my big puppies have dug hole and turned up some of the grass from running and chasing each other. The joys of 100 plus lb dogs. People ask if they are allowed in the house. YES, they are house dogs but because they are too playful with each other they can't be in the same room. You've seen pictures of my house! Too much glass and pretties. They are going to school now to learn some commands. They are learning fast but it's up to us to keep them in practice. My four Shih Tzu's are okay with the Danes and they make sure that they follow all the rules in the house. Yes, there are six dogs. Tell me I'm crazy! We do have a routine which helps.

My baby has Graduated from High School

My youngest daughter Hannah just graduated from High School on the 13th. We are so proud of her hard work and graduating with Honors. She is a joy to our whole family and all her friends. We had a wonderful party for her on the 15th and had lots of fun with all our 50 guests. I have been planning her party for 2 months. You think that would have been enough time but I was working up until the guests arrived. I also made a scrapbook for her that starts the day she was born until the day she graduated. Now it's up to her to finish and add the party pictures. I was suppose to start the book when she was in 9th grade but like everything else the time got away from me. So I started it 3 weeks before the party. Why I thought that it had to be done for the party I don't know but I got it done and I can relax now. It's amazing what you can get done when you want to have a party. I have my whole yard looking great for me to enjoy this summer. My house is in tip top shape and I am hoping to relax and enjoy my front porch with my family on these warm summer nights. So now you know if you have been wondering why I haven't been blogging lately. Hopefully I will be able to get some of the party pictures up next. Now to close this post I want to congratulate Hannah and to tell her how very proud we are of her. I know she will go far in her years to come because she has a wonderful personality, she is caring to all living things, she is a hard worker, she is a pleaser, and she uses her head and thinks things out. I am so blessed. Thank you God for my wonderful husband Wes who is so supportive, and to both my daughters who have made me so proud of everything they do, and of course my cute fuzzy babies

It doesn't matter if you are a dog or a person. What matters is that you can share something with someone. Everyone needs a special friend that you can talk to or share something special. Sometimes you just need someone next to you. Sometimes you don't even need to say a word or bark. A Hug helps when you are sad or just because you feel the need to give a hug. Kisses are fun!!!! Sometimes they are a little wetter than you would like! No one should have to be alone. Call a friend, hug a neighbor, kiss your better half, give a nice word to someone on the street, be thankful for your kids. Life is too short and too many people need just a simple smile to help them get through the day. Friendship is special, Love is a must, Hugs are always needed, and a Kiss really is the best. I hope all of you are a Blessed Day and I am sending you a Whimsical Hug to let you know I care.

Mr. Bumble

Yes, Mr. Bumble has been loved so much but he is still going strong with a little help of needle and thread. He became part of our family in 1992. My daughter Hannah was only 6 months old. We took a trip to Buffalo, NY to visit relatives. My older daughter Hilary who was 4 at the time just had to buy this cute little bee for her sister because her bedroom was in the primary colors and it would match. His name became Mr. bumble from that day on. He has never missed a beat with Hannah. I can't tell you the number of times he has been left in a restaurant and remembered half way home. He was at all the Drs. appointments and on all the vacations. This little guy has been around and seen it all. My daughter Hannah is now 18 and will be graduating from High School this May. I often tease her that Mr. Bumble will probably be going on her honeymoon with her some day. To tell the truth I was always worried that she would loose him someplace. Worried not only that she would never sleep at night but that I would miss him myself. It's silly when you think about it but I have kind of gotten attached to him too. His little plastic eyes are now all white, his stripes are very faded, he is going bald in a few spots and is quite a bit thinner but he is still OUR Mr. Bumble and he will be loved forever.

We have so many cute Easter things at Cotton Depot. Even things to wear. Look at that cute childs dress. It would be beautiful on that special little girl. The weather is getting warmer finally and spring is now here. If that doesn't get you in the mood to shop I don't know what will. Spring brings out all the most beautiful colors. Antiques In Old Town Liburn

Rowan and Hugh are having their spring open house which is a must see. If you have never been to Antiques in Old Town, Lilburn Ga you will be adding it to your favorite shops to visit. It is by far one of the cutest antique shops around. First it is in Historic Lilburn in an old brick building. You are always greeted with a warm welcome and a smile. The dealers in this shop are very talented and find so many vintage items. I have many friends that are dealers in this shop and know you will be walking out with that special treasure. Rowan makes this sooo special that she closes 2 days before to surprise you with the new look. I know I will be there and I hope to see you too. For those of you that have been before you know what I am talking about. This will be your special treat to start off your spring.

Part 2 of my kitchen

Purple, Purple, Purple!!!!! Those lace lamp shades you see are homemade. I had some brass ones from when we first built the house. You know how you change your taste after a couple of years. Well I decide to get a little creative and make my own. I am enjoying the look so far. After we had our Hardwood floors done I changed everything around. My tole trays use to line the ceiling of my walls around my kitchen. I use to have a lot of white shelves holding all my collections. So its a more simple look now. My little china cabinet is where I display my love for green glass. When the sun comes in it is so pretty. (as long as I keep it dusted!!!!!) Then on my far wall is all my WHITE! I LOVE my WHITE. I hope you enjoyed my treasures.

My Purple Kitchen The beginning of the Tour

I have more fun and can spend hours redoing my kitchen. I love vintage plates and the big old coffee mugs. My kitchen kind of has the Purple grape theme. I have a small collection of little grape wall hangings. We have lived in this house over 15 years and the white cabinets were getting to the point of needing a new paint job. Sometimes to money is not at hand at that time and I think it was a blessing in disguise. Sooooo since I love shabby Chic I decided to distress them. I love the look. I also want to display some of my dishes so I took the doors off on two sections. My husband thinks I am crazy but he seems to always like the finish product. These pictures are just in my kitchen area. I can't wait to show you the breakfast side of the kitchen. We just had our hardwood floor redone and it was a big mess with all the dust. I had to take everything out of the kitchen. The plus side of that mess is that everything is nice and clean now. I hope you are enjoying my little tour I have started.

How True are all these pictures and sayings? Well they touched my HEART. I seem to post a lot about FRIENDSHIP. It is a wonderful thing. I like to make my friends feel that they are loved. I like to make people smile. I like to be a positive friend and help. I have many many friends that do the same. It is a two way street. Just like a marriage. BUT why is it that some people just have a hard time being a friend?????? Are they unhappy with themselves??? Are they jealous??? Do they feel that if they are nice they would be a weak person??? Maybe they have been hurt before and are afraid to get close to anyone so they shut you out. Maybe they have a bubble issue. Maybe others sway their feelings toward a person. It is very sad to me that when something so easy as being nice to someone is so hard for some people. Life is so short the older we get and our daily lives get so wrapped up in other thing. We all need to take time and look at what is important in this world and our daily lives. I myself feel that if you can make one person smile you will have a better day yourself. It's not that hard to do. For example if someone is sick, send them a note to let them know you are thinking of them. Hopefully you let them know you care. If they respond with a Thank you maybe you made them smile. If they don't respond you should be happy because you took the time to show you care. I hope all the people that read my blog smile and have a wonderful day. This world needs more friendily people.

Went to Cotton Depot this last Thursday to add more wonderful items to my booth. It was great to see all the shoppers. As cold as it has been it doesn't seem to stop the Antique Lovers. If you are trying to think of a small gift for someone or something small to add to your collection, I may just have it in my booth. It seems that I have been adding to my booth weekly whether it be a piece of furniture or many smalls. I hope you come visit because you won't want to miss out on that special something. If you don't find it in my booth there are many many wonderful dealer with GREAT stuff. It's a wonderful little southern town to visit. We will be looking forward to youcoming to see us soon.

My friend Ella was working on her booth this past Thursday so I decided to take some pictures of it. The only thing was when I was ready to leave she wasn't done redoing. Soooo I only got one picture but I'm sure when you stop by, there will be alot of wonderful finds. Just from this one picture you can see the wonderful table that would make a great island in your country kitchen. The pot rack would put the finishing touches to any kitchen. She always has great things in her booth and I am looking forward to seeing the rest of it next time I go to the shop.

This booth is a must see. As you can see Tia has a table of vintage sewing items. In one corner of her large booth she has many kitchen items. There is a wonderful yellow wall cabinet that would look great in any room of your home. Tia has these beautiful handmade scarves and gloves that she has made herself. In this brisk weather we are having you not only would be warm and cozy but very stylish. Come take a look there is plenty more to see.

My friend Connie has a wonderful booth at Cotton Depot in Monroe. It's the same place that I am in. She is right across from me. Look for the Tags that says Tia. As you can see she has a wonderful twin bed and matching dresser. The knobs are butterflies so it is perfect for that special little girls room.

Today my daughter and her boyfriend came by the house for a visit and to let the BIG dogs play. Dominic and Lexi are brother and sister. As you can see Dominic is a true boy. (much BIGGER) They were so happy to see each other. I hate to say is but a lot of slime was flying around from all the mouthing and biting each other. i think they will both sleep well tonight.They are will be 6 months old at the end of Feb. Dominic is about 84 lbs and Lexi is somewhere in the 70 range. Next time they get together it may have to be outside till they calm down. Oh it was nice to see my daughter and her boyfriend too.LOL!!!!!!

Breakfast with a true friend

Thursday I met a good friend of mine for breakfast. Her name is Lisa. We use to be partners at an antique shop for many years. She is a very special friend and a true friend. We haven't seen each other in a couple of months but it didn't matter, we had so much to talk about. I don't think I ever sat for 2 good hrs at breakfast. Lisa knows me so well. (my love for purple) She surprised me with a beautiful purple glass cake plate. It is sitting on my kitchen table with the sun reflecting through it. I love purple and I collect cake plates. It was the perfect gift. We are planning on getting together more often and I will look forward to that.
Two other good friends of mine Lynn and Lonnie and I meet every Wednesday morning for coffee. These girls are so sweet and we have so much fun chatting. Then we are off to our painting class which is 3 hrs long. Again more of my wonderful friends Pam and Connie. All of us have a history together. We all worked together at one time. It's funny how everything falls into place with people that you have something in common with. It is never a dull moment when we are all together.
I hope that everyone can find the friendship in the way that I have. I spoke of FRIENDSHIP in an earlier post. It has always meant a lot to me. I am a person that falls deep for my friends and will be a true friend if you are true to me. These girls are so special to me and I believe they have the same idea of friendship that I do. There are many more special friends I haven't mentioned at this time and you know who you are. I thank God for giving me this caring and sensitive personality. I believe it pays to be honest, caring, concerned, loving, and sensitive to peoples feelings. It really isn't hard if you try. It makes you feel so good inside. What would life be without GIRLFRIENDS??????

This is my family that brings me joy everyday of my life. We are very close and would do anything for eachother. My Mother is one of the sweetest persons I know and is also alot of fun. She will be 83 in April. I am so proud of her. She still drives, lives alone and does pretty much everythinng for herself. She has 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. My oldest daughter Hilary is a beautiful young lady and has a very handsome boyfriend that we just love. Don't they make a beautiful couple? They are both working full time and going to school. I am so proud of them. Hannah my youngest has graduated early from High School and has worked very hard to do that. She is planning on going to school for photography. She really has the eye for it. Hannah and I have so much fun together and she is a very sweet girl. Last but not least is The love of my life. Wes , my husband of 24 years. We are the perfect pair and I love having him as my best friend and my love. These are the people that make my Valentines Day special.

These are pictures from my front steps at 3:00 today. I love the look of the fresh snow. This reminds me of when I was growing up in a small town up in Western New York. We would play for hours outside. Halfway through the day we would come in to get a change of dry clothes and boots.My Mom would make hot chocolate for all my friends. Everyone would come to our house because we had a big pond the would ice over and we would play hockey or just ice skate. Of course in Buffalo the snow was a lot deeper and lasted a lot longer. As I have gotten older I don't care for the cold cold weather as much but every once in awhile it's okay. I think I would like to go up north one more time in the winter to see how much I really miss it. If you have snow I hope you enjoy it but please be careful if you have to go out in it. Oh and enjoy your Valentines weekend.

Valentines Day is just around the corner. Cotton Depot in Monroe is having a Valentine's Open House on Saturday Feburday 13th. We will have a coffee bar set up and some yummy chocolate treats to go along with it. What a perfect time to bring your better half in and show him some of the vintage items you have been wanting. There are so many wonderful ideas for this holiday. Maybe your Grandmother would like a vintage hanky, or add to someones special collection. There are so many beautiful vintage things to choose from, you might even pick something up for yourself. We will be looking forward to seeing you on the 13th but feel free to stop in before. Everyday more great finds are added with so many dealers in this wonderful shop. These are my Shih Tzu that I painted in art class. I have tried to paint flowers and bird but my love is painting pet portaits. From the top is Maggie, Lilly, then Hogan and Zoe. I will paint my new Great Dane Lexi when she gets a little older. Lucy our first Great Dane is at the bottom. We lost her in 2008 to old age. She lived 11 years. We miss her deeply.

This post is in memory of Dewey. He would have been 2 years old in April 2010. Dewey was the beautiful baby horse of my wonderful niece Holly. She is Dr. Holly Breaux DVM. I have never seen a person that has the compassion and love for animals as her. Ever since Holly was a little girl she talked about dogs and horses. We knew that she would become a Vet one day. She now is a Dr. at an emergency clinic here in GA. Holly and her one horse Fleck have been in many horse shows. She was looking forward to train Dewey to do the same. All of her horses are Appaloosas. They are the ones with the spotted Rumps. The start of this new year wasn't a happy one for Holly as Dewey became very ill. I think she called it Dead Gut. Poor Holly had to make one of the hardest choices ever in her life. With her love and compassion to her beloved Dewey she had him put out of his pain. If you have a pet and have had to make this choice you know how hard it is. It is sad because Dewey had such a short life but as I told Holly he had the best life because of her love. Holly was very brave and is a strong young lady and I have so much respect for her. She means so much to me and I hope her pain heals fast. Please take one minute and say a little prayer for Holly and Dewey and the many other pet lovers out there that have gone through the same thing. Pray to give them strength. Animal lovers have a special kind of HEART and SOUL. I believe that if you are an animal lover you have the compassion for all living things. Just think of your pet dog who is like your child and how he will love you no matter what. We learn so much about LOVE from our animals. JUST THINK ABOUT IT! Give you pet a HUG today and say THANKS. I see Dewey now having a great time in the beautiful green pastures prancing around and having the time of his life.

Today was so much fun. I met two of my close friends at Borders for some fun gossip, coffee, and to learn more about blogging. I main reason was to get help with the Blogging but it ended up being a bonding between the 3 of us. At one time we all worked at the same Antique shop together. Now Lonnie and I are in Cotton Depot in Monroe and Dari is at The Queen of Hearts in Buford. You need to visit these two gals on their blogs. Dari is the musingsofaseawitch.blogspot.com and Lonnie is piggystales.blogspot.com. Dari is the pro at this blogging thing and has really helped us out today. We really enjoyed each others company and plan to meet again for more bonding. I don't know about you but FRIENDS are very important to me. True friends!!! You can meet a lot of true friends in blogging.True friends are friends that believe in you, are there for you, will laugh with you not at you, they like what you like and if they don't they support you. I am that friend. That's what kind of friend I like to have and that's what I call TRUE FRIENDS. Lonnie and Dari are just a few of my true friends. I have a very special friend that I went to High School with and she lives just outside of Buffalo New York. That is where I am from. The town is call Clarence Center. It's a great town. My friends name is Debbie. We have gone through a lot together. We are Best Friends! I moved to Fl in 1976 and we have kept in touch ever since. We are always there for each other even though there is a long distance. That is where I learned about True Friends. That's been close to 40 years keeping in touch with a friend. We don't talk every week and sometimes it could be a month before we talk. We don't even see each other that much but when we talk on the phone it's like we lived next door. I wish in this New Year that everyone finds a TRUE FRIEND because life is too short to not even have one! Cheers to Girlfriends!

After Christmas is put safely up the attic I enjoy a fresh new look.

I have a thing about birdcages, vintage lace, mirrors and vintage silk flowers. They all seem to go together. I am really looking forward to the warm weather so I can decorate my front porch with all my birdcages and flowers.

Yes, We have snow in Atlanta GA. All our school are closed, the roads are slick with ice. I'm from Buffalo, NY and this use to be a joke to me when I first came to the south. In order for the schools to close in NY the snow shovel trucks couldn't get out. As the years went by and maybe because I am older I wouldn't get out in it. I think the ice is worse in the south. Also in Buffalo you have the right tiers for your cars. I miss how beautiful the first snow was up north but my blood has thinned over the years of being in the south. I think I am a Southern Girl now. Everyone please be safe and dress warm.

Happy Birthday Hannah!

My daughter Hannah was born 18 years ago. Wow that makes me 18 years older. Anyway, she has been such a blessing in my life that I wanted to do something special besides giving her some gifts. It wasn't a big thing but I decided just to have some for her friends just show up for cake. It worked out perfect. The first group arrived and Hannah just thought they stopped by because it was her birthday and they were just being the good friends that they are. A little while later someone knocked on the door and three more arrived. This is strange she said, WOW! Then as they were walking in 2 more guest were coming. Hannah turned to me and said Is this a Surprise party. I think she was really SURPRISED.

Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile but with the Holiday season I was really busy. Had company, and worked on by booth at Cotton Depot. Had a wonderful month at the Cotton Depot in Monroe. Today I want to share a song written by my two nieces while they were at my house for a Christmas party. Now remember I have 4 Shih Tzu and a Great Dane puppy. So enjoy.

I am very proud to say that this is where my booth is in Monroe along with many other talented dealers. I have a treat for you on this day. I have taken some pictures of the shop. You will see some of the beautiful things we have for you this holiday season. As you can see the shop from the outside is very inviting and decorated for the Christmas season. There is plenty of parking. When you walk into The Cotton Depot you will be greeted by the wonderful lady that put this shop together. This is Margaret. She has made this shop a warm and friendly place to shop. When you visit you will see all the hard work and love she has put into this place. It is a very happy place to be a part of. Enjoy the pictures and please come visit. For the Christmas Holidays we will be open late on Thursdays and Fridays till 8 pm. The town of Monroe will celebrate also with late night shopping and dining. Just want everyone to know that the town of Monroe will be starting their Christmas with late night Shopping and Dining on Thursday and Friday nights till 8 the first 3 weeks of December. The street will be filled with Christmas lights and there will be horse and buggy rides to get you into that old fashion mood. Cotton Depot will also be open on Sundays for the Christmas holidays. The shop is very festive already and everyday more things are added. What a great way to buy something different for that special person. Please come and visit us now and during our Christmas season. Christmas is just around the corner and I have made my list. Santa will be checking it twice. He said that I have been a very good girl this year.
(Little does he know)LOL!
Friday night my good buddy Pam and I went to the Christmas Open House at Antiques in Old Town in Liburn. It was wonderful as always. Rowan and Hugh always welcome their guests with open arms. The Shop was decorated with such a creative touch. There are such wonderful dealers with great talent. The goodies and cider was a warm welcome to the chill of the night. What was very exciting for me was to see a lot of my wonderful friends I haven't seen in awhile. Pam and I walked in the door after Rowan greeted us and didn't get very far when we ran into a wonderful old friend of mine Sally. Her booth is one of the most beautiful booths I have ever seen. She is a dealer I look up to. This girl has a lot of talent. I think Pam and I took 2 steps and we ran into Karen (Fox) and Lynn (LEW). They are both very special friends of mine also. Lynn's friend Laurie was along for the great fun too. She is a talented girl that should have her own store. Another step and I saw Jeanine (TLW) a long time friend and a special friend. If you have ever been at this shop you know that the front door isn't far from the counter. It took Pam and I about ten minutes just to get to the counter. Well, at the counter Pam finally left me because I kept running into more friends. I saw Cheryl who has the first booth on the right when you walk. We never even got to look at anything in her booth. Then there was Robyn. I hadn't seen her in so long. She looks great. Man this was crazy. I turned around and Susan (MVH) was standing there. It was so wonderful to see such good friends at one time. What a great girls night out. Well I finally caught up to Pam on the bottom level. We were hungry and went straight for the cookies and cider. It started all over again. The was Shirley, Janet with her granddaughter, Mary (MAE), and Kris (KL). Man I love seeing them. I hope I didn't leave anyone out that I saw. These girls are all wonderful dealers and I cherish their friendship. So needless to say Pam and I didn't get much shopping done. We then went accross the street to the cute little shop where I sat on Santa's lap and gave him my list of wishes. It was a very festive evening and fun with my buddy Pam. We always have alot of laughs when we are together.

Anyways Lexi is learning tricks fast. She seems to be a smart girl. I can't wait to finish her shots so we can take her more places. She loves having Dominic over. She has already gotten taller in the 2 weeks we have had her. Dominic is going to be a bit bigger than she. You will be seeing more pictures as she grows.

Last night my friend Bonnie and I went to Queen of Hearts Antique store to visit my mermaid friend Dari. She has a wonderful Booth in a Great spot close to the front on the store. The store is in Buford, Ga. It is worth the drive. Thursday nights they serve goodies like wine and cheese while you shop. We really enjoyed ourselves and will go back very soon.
This morning I got up and decided that Zoe, my Shih Tzu and I were going to get my Dunkin Donuts coffee and then hit a few yard sales. Of course I passed a few but the coffee had to come first. My first stop I ran into some friends of mine who I use to work with ,Jeanine and Paul. It was really good to see them. This is perfect weather to yard sale. This one sale I came upon had Shih Tzu puppies for sale. Zoe was so cute with the little guy. He was black and white. Hey, that's the only color I don't have. No, I couldn't bring it home, if you remember one week ago we just got a new Great Dane puppy Lexi. I think 5 dogs is enough. I did buy a few things at that sale and then came home to work in the yard since it was so beautiful. It has been a busy day. I can't believe how much I did today. After working in the yard I gave all the dogs a bath and steamed all the floors with my new shark steamer I had told you about in one of my older posts. I even washed my kitchen windows. Man, where did all this energy come from. It feels good that everything is done and I can relax tonight and then have a fun day tomorrow.

Lexi is our new Great Dane baby who is 9 weeks old. Her birthday is August 31,2009. We got her yesterday without even thinking about it. My daughter Hilary and her boyfriend Robert were getting one and we went with her to look at the puppies. There were a liter of 13 and 2 were left. My daughter picked the brother of Lexi. My husband Wes out of the blue made an offer for the last one and here she is. I never saw it coming. You know we have 4 Shih Tzu now. We lost our 1st Great Dane Dec.1st 2008. The puppies mom Dana was such a beautiful Dane I would have taken her home. Our new Lexi has all the markings like her mom so I am sure we are going to have a beauty. Now Hilary's little boy is a little stockier than Lexi but he is a male.
I will keep you in touch with how big Lexi becomes.
